Meet our wonderful team of NHS nurses. They are always on hand to support in school. The nursing team support with care plan meetings, coordinate and deliver medical training, liaise with external professionals, provide parental support, administer medication and support and carry out medical interventions. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the safe and smooth running of school.
The nurses at St Francis Special School in Lincoln have been recognised for their work with students and staff.
The group won the Chair's Compassion and Respect Award at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Staff Awards. Nurse Team leader, Julie Smith was then invited to discuss and showcase the work they do with the school at an NHS board meeting.
The nursing team at St Francis is a vital part of school life as it supports a high number of students with complex medical needs.
